RSA appoints Sonya Bryson as Commercial Lines Managing Director

Date: 6 February 2024

RSA Insurance today announced the appointment of Sonya Bryson as Commercial Lines Managing Director, effective from 1 May 2024 and subject to regulatory approval.

Reporting to Ken Norgrove, CEO UK & International, Sonya will have full responsibility for the strategy, P&L and performance of RSA’s Commercial Lines business in the UK, (including NIG and FarmWeb). Lee Mooney will leave the business after an orderly transition.

Sonya joins RSA from Direct Line Group where she was Commercial Managing Director and Managing Director NIG. Sonya has held a number of senior leadership roles, having always worked within the commercial insurance market.

Ken Norgrove, Chief Executive Officer, commented:

“This is a transformational year for RSA as we complete the integration of NIG which will take us to number three in the market. We have ambitious plans, taking the strengths of RSA, NIG and FarmWeb to create a specialist Commercial Lines business that’s market leading for broker service, products and pricing.

“In Sonya, we have the right person to lead the transition and the newly focused RSA, building on her proven track record of success with NIG and I look forward to welcoming her to the team.”
