We're here for the long term

We value long-term relationships with our brokers – it makes for better business, and helps us provide the best possible service, year after year. That’s why we take the time to understand each broker’s unique book of business, and make sure we’re the right fit for many years to come.

A conversation

The first step is always a conversation – we’ll talk to you to get a better understanding of the type and volume of business you do, and see how we might work together.

And a bit of paperwork

We like to get a full picture of your business from the very start, so we’ll ask you for a few key bits of paperwork before you start trading with us. It helps us understand your business, and make sure we’re a good fit for one another.

Getting set up: the process

See the steps we take to get you set up as an RSA-registered broker. On average it takes about a month to complete the process – but that can vary, depending on a whole range of factors.

  • Get in touch with us, and one of our team will set up a call to run through the basics with you: from the ins and outs of trading with us using e-Trade, Regions, or London Market (depending on your business), to the documents and details we’ll need from you to get you set up.

  • We run a number of different checks as part of our due diligence, including:

    • Regulatory check
    • Financial check
    • Competition and conflict check (to make sure you’re not in direct competition with another RSA broker.

This helps us get a detailed view of your business, and make sure that RSA is the right insurer for you. The detail we need from you will vary depending on the scale and type of business you have – your account manager will explain everything we need from you at this stage.

We’ll also discuss with you the best way for your to trade with us – whether as an online-only broker e-Trading, or working closely with our underwriting teams in Regions and London Market.

  • Once we’ve run the relevant checks and made sure everything is all set up, you’ll get an RSA Agency Number, which will allow you to start trading with us.
