Tom Wood

Tom Wood heads up Searchlight’s training delivery programme. He will be supporting the delegates throughout the Broker Leadership Programme.

Tom joined the insurance industry in 2007 with RWA Compliance Services and was part of the executive team that led the business to become one of the leading compliance and training consultancies for the general insurance market before it was acquired by the UKGI Group in 2020. He is now part of the senior leadership team. The Group supports hundreds of insurance brokers and intermediaries across the UK.

In this time, he has developed experience at all levels within a growth company across operations, finance, digital transformation, product design, sales, marketing, relationship management and service delivery.

A passionate advocate for leadership training and development, Tom’s own development journey saw him complete his Postgraduate Certificate in Sustainable Leadership as well as a CMI Level 7 Certificate in Strategic Management and Leadership with Cardiff Metropolitan University in 2014. He was a winner at the Leading Wales Awards in the same year. Then he went on to become part of Innovation Point’s Wales Digital Dozen in 2016 after the success of RWA’s development in designing and running the market-leading insurance online learning platform, the Development Zone.

Outside of work, Tom has been the Chairman of a local childcare charity since 2010. He has held various community support and volunteer management board member roles at local authority level for local enterprise and entrepreneurship development, school entrepreneurship competitions, event management and digital product development. He enjoys travel, cooking, building his vinyl collection, and spending time outdoors.
