Charles is the CEO of Intact Financial Corporation, RSA’s parent company. Charles brings nearly 30 years of experience to the Board. He began his career with Intact in 1992 and has held progressively senior roles, in Canada and abroad, within Intact and its former affiliates.
Charles was appointed President & CEO in January 2008. Under his leadership, Intact became an independent and widely-held Canadian company in 2009. Today, Intact is the largest provider of property and casualty insurance in Canada, a leading provider of global specialty insurance, and, with RSA, a leader in the U.K. and Ireland.

Charles is a graduate of Université Laval in Actuarial Science and an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society. In May 2019, Charles received an honorary PhD from HEC Montréal. He is a board member of Intact Financial Corporation, the Geneva Association, the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, and the Business Council of Canada.
